Is it safe?

Drua Experience has been operating since 2016 with a 100% safety record. Accidents can happen, we do everything necessary to minimise risk. i Vola Sigavou is built in full commercial survey, carries all necessary safety equipment that meets maritime safety regulations. The expert crew deliver a full safety briefing before departure. We operate within the confines of the Nadi waters which means we are protected from ocean swell by the barrier reef. It is also the responsibility of our guests to adhere to our safety procedures and instructions and to advise us of any medical or physical needs in advance. Let us know if you can't swim.
Can we bring kids?
Yes, we have an array of kids life jackets onboard. For really young children (like ones that can't walk or talk) we do require a adult to be looking after them. The crew are amazing with kids and love teaching and playing games. We also conduct youth training programs teaching groups of kids as young as 7 to sail and navigate the drua. |
How many people can you take?
We are licensed to carry up to 10 passengers. For all our cruises we require a minimum of four passengers. If this is a problem for you we can try and arrange other people that may want to join your trip or you can make up the difference in cost yourself.
Is it just sailing?

Oh and so much more! Drua Experience is a cultural adventure. If you would like to try drinking kava just ask us and our crew will mix a bowl for you. Once onboard we are your cultural liaisons. We are experts in Fijian maritime heritage and culture. We can tell you about the environmental risks facing our reefs and Ocean and how our canoe ties it all together.
We provide our vessel for a variety of speciality events. The Government of Fiji chose i Vola Sigavou as the poster girl for their climate change presidency, Digicel's music app features i Vola Sigavou in their media campaign and the Fiji Rugby Union sailed their team to the launch of the 2018 season just to give some examples.

What do I need to bring?
Whatever you'd normally bring for a day out (sunblock and a towel, some snacks and a drink)
If you're coming for one of our evening cruises a light jacket could be a good idea, just dress to the weather. If you're heading out snorkelling you'll need your own gear or we can organise some rental gear for a fee. Bring a sense of adventure and a smile. If you let us know in advance we can provide catering and non-alcoholic drinks at an additional charge.

What if I have a disability?
We want our vessel to be something that can be experienced by all. However there are some physical constraints for differently abled people. If you let us know what your needs are in advance we can try to meet your needs and help facilitate an experience for you.
